Plan Your Wedding Day Smile Makeover

You have planned your wedding in every detail. You have booked your hairdresser, chosen your beautiful white gown, flowers, wedding cake, church and whom to invite, but you start to panic as soon as you think of  a wedding photographer, especially when he will say, “smile”. Scared that your discoloured, uneven smile will forever destroy the photos of what should be the happiest day of your life – your wedding day.

The wedding of your dreams does not have to be a nightmare. From new whitening techniques to porcelain veneers and other restorative dental work, the smile of your dreams is within your reach  when your wedding day comes.

"If you think your smile will mar your pictures or make you self-conscious, then your wedding is the right reason to have a smile makeover", says aesthetic dentist Anna Sarzynska, the founder of the Anna Dental Clinic in Gdansk, dr. Sarzynska is a master in prosthetic and an accredited member of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD).”

Regardless of what is wrong with your smile,  it is likely there is something an aesthetic dentist can do to improve it by your wedding day. Dr Sarzynska offers a tailored wedding smile makeover service to make you look radiant and smile with confidence on your special day.

Cosmetic dentist Anna Sarzynska 6 "Top tips" for a great smile

“We recommend you visit us 3 months before your big day to allow sufficient time to achieve healthy teeth and gums and create your perfect smile. If you do it too close to your wedding day and anything goes wrong, there is no leeway," aesthetic dentist Anna Sarzynska says. "You really need  to start cosmetic dental procedures with as much time as possible to make sure it's done right, and to give yourself time to enjoy your new smile and get used to it."

"People always want a brighter smile, so tooth whitening is something we see a whole lot  before weddings," aesthetic dentist Sarzynska says.

There are many  methods of tooth whitening available today, she says. "The darker your teeth, the more help they need," aesthetic dentist Anna Sarzynska explains. "If you have nice white straight teeth, and basically like the colour, then over-the-counter bleaching kits are good because they give you that extra little whitening.

However, if you have significant discolouration or discolouration on the sides of  your teeth, these bleaching kits will likely  be not sufficient”.

"If your teeth are really dark and you want to whiten them quickly, laser whitening may be your best option. Laser whitening is often the choice for people who do not like the idea of wearing mouth trays”.

If your smile needs even more help, don't despair — there are still plenty of ways to improve it.

Like options for whitening teeth, there are also several routes a person can take to restore broken, chipped, cracked or stained teeth, dr. Sarzynska explains.

Bonding: Bonding is typically the first line. Bonding can improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, broken, cracked, stained or have spaces between them. With bonding, tooth-coloured materials are applied, or bonded, to the tooth surface. "We usually fill small spaces with cosmetic white bonding. This can close the space and it is a simple, noninvasive and conservative procedure, says aesthetic dentist Sarzynska

Cosmetic tooth contouring: Another method is cosmetic tooth contouring which can correct minor defects in the shape and appearance of a tooth through a process referred to as tooth contouring or tooth reshaping.

"This is sort of like filing your nails," aesthetic dentist Sarzynska explains. "Let's say one tooth is longer or pointed or has a chip that needs to be smoothed out, then with a little cosmetic contouring teeth can look pretty, without the need for full braces or a crown. It's not painful either. It's pretty much like when you are doing your fingernails, you know something is being done, but it doesn't hurt," aesthetic dentist Sarzynska says.

Porcelain veneers: Porcelain veneers are another popular choice for brides and grooms, says aesthetic dentist Sarzynska. These thin, custom-made shells cover the front side of teeth, and can be used to treat spaces between teeth and teeth that are chipped or worn, permanently stained, poorly shaped or slightly crooked . Porcelain veneers  are permanent and can last 10 years or more, depending on how you take care of them.

Crowns and dental bridge:Crowns may be needed if porcelain veneers don’t   do the trick. A crown is a tooth-shaped "cap" that is placed over a tooth. Crowns can restore a tooth shape, size and strength and/or improve its appearance. Crowns cover the visible portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line.

Teeth that are damaged or missing can be restored by crowns or bridgework. When the roots are intact, a crown replaces the visible part of the tooth above the gum line. If the tooth is missing, a bridge is used to secure a false tooth to two adjacent teeth. Properly done, these restorations may last a decade or more, and generally require two or more visits.

Implants: Dental implants are a great way to restore missing teeth. They offer a permanent, natural-looking tooth replacement with numerous advantages over other restorative treatments. Achieving these results requires careful planning and takes a bit more time. If you need tooth restoration, be sure to ask us whether dental implants might be right for you.
